Key Selection Criteria

(Everyone’s favourite part of applying for a job. Not!)

How can we help you?

(Let me count the ways!)

Book a document session with us and during this time, we will work through each question and collaborate with you on the tailored responses before writing the answers out in full for you.

Book a coaching session ($150/hour) and we can tackle as many as we can in the time provided, while walking you through the process so you can finish it off yourself.

Ask us to tackle the hardest, most complex of the criteria questions, and then you can model the easier responses from the one/s provided.

Write the Criteria responses yourself and ask us to read over them and provide feedback or edit them for you to tighten and polish the final result.

FULL CRITERIA RESPONSES

The prices vary based on the level of experience, because the higher up the ladder you climb, the more complex the criteria responses become. These prices reflect the additional work that goes into the higher level responses such as reading company annual strategies and plans, research, and shaping more complex and dynamic examples.

Criteria coaching

Cheaper than having us write your selection criteria out in full, this option allows you to use your 60/90 minute session as you choose. We can teach you how to respond to each criteria, we can develop a plan with you, or we can tackle the hardest ones and then you can apply your knew knowledge to finish the easier ones. It’s up to you how we use this time.

Select criteria from scratch

Choose the questions that you are struggling to wrap your head around the most and ask us to do those ones for you. Then you can write the other responses, based on the ones we’ve prepared for you.

This is another way we can approach selection criteria responses for you. If you want to draft your document, we can always cast our eye over the responses and provide you with feedback and advice regarding editing options for your work.

OTHER CRITERIA RESPONSE FORMATS

Criteria statement

This is becoming a more common approach to key selection criteria requirements. It can be in the form of a separate statement of a certain amount of words (often 700-750 words), or it might be requested in the form of a long cover letter. In these cases, you are still expected to demonstrate your experience with examples, but the format is different, requiring you to combine criteria responses and condense your approach sometimes using one example for more than one criterion.

Application questions

When you are preparing to submit an application, always click through the application submission process in case there are some sneaky little questions in there that you need to put some real thought into. You may be asked to tell them in 250 words or less why you would be a good fit for the job, for example. You don’t want to be approaching the closing time on a submission, only to realise that you have to come up with three 250 word responses about how wonderful you are!
